Hi. I’m Spike. I was born and raised in The Bronx and lived the first two-thirds of my life in an around the New York City area. Then I got out – and lived in Hong Kong for more than 17 years. Now I live in Manila.
By day, I’m an IT guy. It’s something I fell into by accident almost 30 years ago and it pays the bills. For almost as long as I can remember, I’ve also been a writer and a photographer. For the past ten years I’ve been writing at Hongkie Town and posting my photos at Spike’s Photos. I’m also co-owner of PASM Workshop, a popular photography studio in Hong Kong.
Movies, music, food, travel, photography and stuff that plugs in and lights up have always been big parts of my life. So from time to time that’s what I’ll be writing about, as well as about my adjustment to living in The Philippines. Hopefully some stuff you’ll find funny, some you’ll find useful, some you’ll find utterly pointless and maybe some of it will piss you off.
Let’s see how it goes.
